We all need to indulge in a little escapism every now and then. We sprint through life whispered to by our fears, pulled and shoved by our responsibilities, beckoned by our hopes, tempted by our should-not’s, driven by our desires – all with the impending sense that we are running out of time.
An indulgent break from reality is a necessity. Even if our respite amounts to only switching off our Samsung for ten minutes, or, just taking the moment to pause, stop, close our eyes, and breathe.
See, escapism isn’t just about running away (although sometimes this is exactly what the Doctor orders). Escapism can come in the form of anything that allows us to, for just a moment, lose ourselves – and, sometimes, this is the hardest thing to do.
